How Prices Are Collected
Collection period: Measurement takes place in Buenos Aires from September 25 to 27, 2026; it's the city's prices, not the national average.
Sources of release: COTO, Carrefour Argentina, ChangoMás, Vea and other online and offline trading platforms, including delivery services.
In this release, all 90 lines are updated for September public prices, photos, checks and receipts, and all lines are cross-checked by editorial review: product, packaging, weight, unit of measurement, availability and deviation from the previous release.
For each item, the minimum current retail price of a comparable product is searched for; a share per unit is allowed without a club card; discounts for several products are excluded; offers for two for the price of one, personal and club prices are not counted; price per kilogram is priority for bulk goods; inappropriate packaging is normalized only by a fixed rule.
Some of the retail prices are not published online: these lines are confirmed by local volunteers with photos, checks and receipts, the source and the screenshot are stored in the release register. The index is not an official cost of living statistic.

After normalization, the monthly index for 82 comparable items was +1,36% peso -0,27% The largest comparable increase was in lemons, and the largest decrease was in yogurt.
iPlan returned to monthly dynamics on the August receipt for the same tariff of 500/100 Mbit. The Big Mac and two types of sliced ham are included in the current price, but are excluded from the dynamics due to period or source rupture.
Main conclusion
In September, Buenos Aires’ comparable basket rose moderately in pesos and was almost unchanged in dollars. The dollar estimate is restated at ARS/USD 1,545 at the date of release.
Total present value includes 3 incomparable lines; therefore, its change is published separately and is not called monthly inflation.
