Key Points in This Release

This is the first release of RULATAM Uruguay 50. Montevideo is chosen as the country's main urban market: it's where the main networks are concentrated, online pricing is more affordable and it's easier to keep measurement comparability between releases.

Methodology

Prices were collected and checked in Montevideo supermarkets between June 24 and 28, 2026, and were collected and checked in Ta-Ta, Tienda Inglesa, Disco and Géant by the editorial staff of the RULATAM Prices project.

All prices are checked by RULATAM volunteers; the index excludes rent, utility bills, medicine, schools, taxes and flights; it is an applied monitoring of the cost of living, not official statistics.
