Methodology

The meter is coming from Panama City; it's the city's prices, not the national average. Sources: Riba Smith, Supermercados Rey, Super 99, El Machetazo, PriceSmart and other verifiable online sources from Panama City.

All prices are checked by RULATAM volunteers; the index excludes rent, utility bills, medicine, schools, taxes and flights; it is an applied monitoring of the cost of living, not official statistics.
