What to check before deciding

  • Check the legal status of the child at the place of birth.
  • Separately determine the route of documents for parents and older children.
  • Agree on the medical plan, birth registration and paperwork deadlines.

Giving Birth in Argentina with RULATAM

Argentina is the country where our work in Latin America began. We have been accompanying families in Buenos Aires since 2017: we help prepare for arrival, choose a doctor and clinic, organize everyday life, navigate childbirth and obtain the child's documents.

After the birth of a child, parents may consider obtaining residence in Argentina based on family ties. We accompany this process and explain in advance what documents will be needed, what deadlines are possible and where difficulties may arise.

The birth of a child creates a separate legal route for parents: after the child’s documents are completed, they can prepare the residence and court application for citizenship. RULATAM accompanies each of these procedures separately.

Buenos Aires is one of the main medical centers in the region. There are strong private clinics, experienced obstetricians and gynecologists and teams accustomed to caring for foreign patients.

RULATAM works with doctors from among the leading specialists in private obstetric practice in Argentina. This is not a high-volume, checklist-based selection: we take into account the stage of pregnancy, medical situation, family expectations, area of residence, language of communication and format of support.

In late pregnancy, it is often difficult to get to a qualified doctor on your own. Therefore, it is better to start preparing the route before arrival.

Childbirth abroad is not only about medicine. This is a flight, a new city, the Spanish language, an unusual system, documents, everyday issues and natural anxiety before childbirth.

In Argentina, the family is accompanied by a certified doula and a university-trained psychologist. A doula helps you go through pregnancy and childbirth more calmly: prepares for visits, helps in the maternity hospital, helps the family communicate with doctors and remains close in the first hours after the birth of the child.

Psychological support helps families cope with the stress of moving, anxiety, language barriers and the first weeks after childbirth.

After the birth of the child, the family prepares the Argentine documents for the child. Parents may also consider obtaining residence in Argentina based on family ties to the child.

This is not an automatic process. It is necessary to prepare documents, confirm the family relationship and identity, provide police-clearance records and meet the requirements of Migraciones. We accompany the administrative part of the route: we explain the procedure, check documents, help meet deadlines and prepare the family for submission.

After completing the child’s documents, we separately support the parents' residence process and the judicial application for citizenship on the basis of kinship with the Argentine child.

Why they trust us for childbirth in Argentina

RULATAM is an extension of RuArgentina®

RuArgentina® is where the whole story began. In 2017, we launched the first Russian-language childbirth-support service in Argentina. Buenos Aires is our hometown: the team was built here, doctors were selected, and the methodology for working with clients was formed.

RULATAM grew out of RuArgentina - and Argentina remains its core. Hundreds of families have passed through us, and we understand what is really important: not only medicine, but also documents, the rhythm of the city and the first hours after the birth of a child.

Most recently, my wife and I used the services of this organization. Everything corresponded to what was stated on the website and in conversations with the person in charge. The support was organized at a high level. They helped me navigate the situation and even advised me on a number of minor everyday issues not directly related to childbirth or obtaining Argentine documents for my child. The clinic, doctors and medical service are also at the highest level. In a word, my wife and I were very pleased.

Hello :) I would like to point out that my opinion is based on my personal experience during our work together. I am a doctor from Poland. I found the company via the Internet. The website is clear and provides detailed information about the services. I tried to check everything thoroughly before arriving in Buenos Aires. This was my first pregnancy. Communication with RuArgentina by email and WhatsApp was dependable, timely, and thorough. They are really helpful in renting an apartment, visiting a doctor and obstetric tests. Even if you do not know Spanish, it is not a problem, if necessary, they help with communication in every situation. We were picked up from the airport on site. The support during medical appointments, childbirth, and day-to-day matters is excellent. They are reliable and honest in every matter. They cooperate with professionals. Doctors, lawyers and other collaborators are excellent, as professionals and as people. Our daughter VIVI is healthy, beautiful, smiling. She already has her documents. Once there, you have to organize a new life in a foreign place and culture....

I would like to thank the staff of RuArgentina for a great birth experience 😊I don’t know if everything could be organized even better, because everything was perfect for me:) Together we selected an obstetrician-gynecologist, and she managed my pregnancy and then delivered the baby. And this is love forever! I received so much love, care, attention, professionalism (!). Every visit to the doctor was comfortable and friendly. They also helped me choose a clinic for childbirth, taking into account my requirements and wishes. The support was gentle, respectful, tactful, and professional. Thank you very much to all of you from our slightly larger family! ❤️

Frequently asked questions about childbirth in Argentina

We collected answers to basic questions about childbirth in Argentina, the child’s documents and the parents' residence process

Yes. After the birth of the child, Argentine documents are issued. The specific package and timing depend on the place of birth, current administrative practices and parental documentation.

Yes. A child born in Argentina receives citizenship from the moment of birth, and the parents receive a special basis for their own naturalization. Article 3(f) Decreto 3213/84 allows the parent of an Argentine child to apply for citizenship regardless of length of residence; A mandatory permanent resident status for such judicial filing is not established by law. In July 2026, the Cámara Nacional Electoral invalidated DNU 366/2025 and confirmed the competence of the federal courts in citizenship cases. RULATAM accompanies this separate legal process after the birth is registered and the child's paperwork is completed. A detailed analysis of judicial practice is in the article about DNU 366/2025 and the decision of the court of appeal.

Parents may consider obtaining residence in Argentina based on family ties to the child. This is a separate administrative procedure: you need to prepare documents, confirm the family relationship and identity, provide police-clearance records and fulfill the requirements of Migraciones.

Sometimes yes, but arriving late makes the route more difficult. It is necessary to take into account the airline's rules, the medical situation, the availability of a doctor, housing, deadlines for documents and the amount of time after birth. The optimal time of arrival is usually discussed during the consultation.

We work with private clinics and doctors in Buenos Aires. A specific hospital and doctor are selected individually: based on the stage of pregnancy, medical indications, budget, area of residence and family expectations.

The route includes a manager, translator, certified doula and university-trained psychologist. The composition of the team depends on the selected package and the specific situation of the family.

We help you choose a doctor and a clinic, coordinate visits, tests, examinations, translation and communication with the medical team. Medical decisions are made by the physician, not RULATAM.

Yes. The cost of the clinic, doctor, childbirth, tests, medications and additional medical services are paid separately. The RULATAM package covers support, organization, translation, coordination, and documents within the selected package.

Russian citizens usually have visa-free entry for up to 90 days. Before traveling, you need to check the current entry rules, airline requirements, passport validity and possible additional conditions.

Most often, families plan for 2–3 months: arrival before the birth, the birth itself, recovery and registration of the child’s primary documents. The exact date depends on the date of birth, clinic, documents and further family plans.

You can begin preparing for residence after completing the child’s basic documents. The timing and procedure depend on the documents of the parents, citizenship, police clearance certificates, translations, apostilles and Migraciones requirements.

Argentina offers a Spanish-speaking environment, Buenos Aires, an established Russian-speaking community, and years of RuArgentina® experience supporting families. Brazil has a different medical, linguistic and legal system. The choice depends on budget, medical expectations, language, timing and future family plans.

The answers provide general information. Specific conditions depend on your situation, nationality and stage of pregnancy. We recommend starting with a consultation.
